For this month of February, we invite you to help African women with us to become independent through our Savings for Change (EPC) project.
This project is working well and several hundred women have been helped in 2022. Our goal for the month is to finance 10 community savings groups that will enable 200 women to be able to invest in sources of income. This will improve their independence and increase their decision-making power within their home.
The financing of a group of about twenty women costs CHF 186.-
The Saving for Change project
It has been proven that giving more space to women leads to better community development. For example, women reinvest 90% of their income in their family and community, compared to only 30-40% for men*. In addition, women are the ones responsible for the upbringing of children: the more empowered and educated they are, the more they can help their children in their own development.
