Nassibatou, an internally displaced person, went through difficult trials before finding a glimmer of hope at the CREN in Ouagadougou. Her daughter, severely malnourished, needed urgent care. Upon arrival at the center, the child weighed only 4.7 kg at 12 months (normal weight 7 to 11 kg).
Thanks to intensive care and therapeutic feeding, the little girl gradually gained weight, reaching 6.8 kg in 40 days. Her mother learned to prepare enriched porridge with local products and maintain strict hygiene to prevent infections.
Today, Nassibatou warmly thanks the CREN staff for their dedication. “They saved my daughter and gave me tools to keep her healthy,” she says with gratitude.
