The security situation is deteriorating in Burkina Faso. Since 2015, jihadist groups have regularly attacked villages in the north and east of the country. Many inhabitants of these regions leave for safer places, leaving everything behind.
These are the internally displaced persons (IDPs) because they move within the same country. According to OCHA, there are more than 1.2 million IDPs in Burkina Faso as of February 28, 2021.

In Kaya, Morija has been working with a local partner for food distribution since 2018. This aid is available to all people in need regardless of ethnicity or religion.
Morija purchases and distributes monthly food kits consisting of 25 kg of rice, 5 kg of sugar, 5 liters of oil and 5 kg of food paste. This regular support helps meet a vital need of the population.
