At the Morija headquarters in Le Bouveret, wheelchairs are collected and then repaired. They will then be sent to Burkina Faso and made available to people with disabilities who cannot afford this very expensive equipment.
The price of a new and good quality wheelchair is very high (from CHF 500.- to more than CHF 3’000.-), and the costs related to the importation of this material in Burkina Faso further increase the price. bill. These wheelchairs then become inaccessible for most people who need them to regain their dignity.
Like in an armchair!
Thanks to Morija and its donors, second-hand wheelchairs can therefore be rehabilitated and sent to Africa, thanks to the inventiveness of our volunteers: there are many different brands and we have to be inventive, with salvage parts, in the rehabilitation of this precious material. Once there, this material will make people happy.
If you have wheelchairs or tintébins (without wheels) which are no longer useful to you, Morija will be happy to recover them to give them a second life in Africa!
