The uneven distribution of international humanitarian aid

In Africa, the Sahel region has suffered for decades from conflicts, repeated food and climate crises, which are intensifying.

These crises, unfortunately, become the norm in the eyes of the population, certain politicians and certain Western media. “A new food crisis in Africa! One more more…”
They are becoming less exceptional, this has a negative effect on the outpouring of generosity committed by rich countries and their populations for certain very poor regions of the globe.

The 10 most neglected crises (source: Le Monde)
The Norwegian Refugee Council established, on June 1, the ranking of the 10 most neglected crises by international bodies. These are all located in Africa:

At the top of the ranking, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Burkina Faso and Cameroon.
Currently, in West Africa, 27 million people suffer from hunger, an unprecedented figure in the region. Aggravating phenomenon: the war in Ukraine which causes shortages of essential foodstuffs such as wheat.

Morija on permanent alert for more than 40 years
Morija has been working in sub-Saharan Africa for over 40 years. Despite promising economic developments, this region remains one of the poorest on the planet. This is why we want to draw the attention of the general public to the problems of extreme poverty and food crises which are intensifying due to global warming, rising food prices and global political instabilities.
