Burkina Faso: Response from Morija

In Burkina Faso, the humanitarian crisis is setting in and actors on the ground are uniting to produce an appropriate response, despite difficult security conditions. Morija’s humanitarian action is reinforced, and now occupies an important place, by force of circumstance.

After fleeing the violence, the displaced have left everything behind and find themselves without financial and even primary resources, such as water, food, clothing… Uprooted, without means, they are dependent on community aid which welcomes them, social assistance and NGOs. Through its humanitarian vocation, Morija has naturally come to the aid of internally displaced people and host communities in its areas of intervention since 2019. Currently

Morija operates in the town of Kaya in the province of Sanmatenga, in Djibo in the province of Soum in partnership with the association ASAREN and more recently in the commune of Ourgou-Manéga in the province of Oubritenga.

In Kaya, Djibo and Ourgou-Manéga, Morija works with local partners for food distribution. This aid is available to all people in need regardless of ethnicity or religion and consists of food kits containing at least 25 kg of rice, 5 kg of sugar and 5 liters of oil. This regular support makes it possible to meet a vital need of the population: food.
