The Kaya Medical-Surgical Center (CMC), an example of North-South knowledge sharing

Another North-South collaboration has been set up around the recruitment of a young orthopedic surgeon from Burkina Faso, Doctor Christian Nezien, who benefits from the remote support of Swiss and Dutch surgeons (Drs Dominique Hügli and  Carroll Tseng), through a domain-specific platform.

This sharing of knowledge and know-how is for the benefit of patients who benefit from a dual expertise.

Since taking office in September 2020, Doctor Nezien has not experienced any complications following his operations with CMC patients.

As a reminder, the Kaya CMC operates each year on several dozen patients with disabilities, many of whom are children.
