Manufacture of wheelchairs in Burkina Faso

A few months ago, Morija and its local partner ASAREN launched a pilot project in Burkina Faso. Young people are trained in metalworking trades in vocational training workshops.

During their training, they made a first prototype of a wheelchair.

The successful prototype will be replicated and can be used by patients at the Center Médico-Chirurgical de Kaya in Burkina Faso (CMC) supported by Morija. This synergy project between our programs will allow people with disabilities to benefit from local solutions.

The mission of Kaya CMC is to empower them by providing orthopedic surgery, physiotherapy and orthopedic devices to help them rebuild their lives. Patients have the option of paying for their care according to their means or are sometimes even treated free of charge.
